The researchers found that depression may increase risk of stroke by 45 percent and as much as 55 percent can increase the risk for stroke is deadly.

The study published in  the Journal of the American Medical Association  on September 21, also revealed that depression is associated with a 25 percent risk of  ischemic stroke - caused by obstruction of blood flow to the brain.

Furthermore, the researchers revealed an explanation of the relationship between depression and stroke were as follows.

"In conclusion, this meta-analysis shows strong evidence that depression is a significant risk factor for the occurrence of stroke . With the high prevalence and incidence of depression in society in general, our observations suggest an important relationship between depression and stroke clinical and public health, "said researcher An Pan and his colleagues from the Harvard School of Public Health through a press release that was released in the journal.
